Nationalism (aka Patriotism) is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

Hitler is said to have concluded that since the massacre, attempted genocide, of a million or so Armenians in WW1 by Turkey no one would bother to act against his "final solution" to the Jewish problem.

Now, because of the powerful Jewish finance and political lobby and the Moshad (there are far more Jews in the US than in Israel) control of the CIA in America there is no possibility of separating Israeli interests from US interests. Israel has an interest in keeping Islamic nations fighting among themselves.

The American Government has benefited tremendously from the supposed war on terror. Where the FBI or European security organisations are monitoring and have ongoing investigations of terror suspects the CIA whips them away through Turkish airports and onto Baghdad and terror camps in the former USSR. This prevents the follow up of leads to protect EU and US citizens.

Turkey totally cooperates with America in it's manipulation of the World's mistaken belief that Arab terrorism is the Worlds major problem. American terrorism, in aid of the "military industrial complex"(still the same old villains from the "Cold War" days) is. The big Corporations sell sensitive materials, including nuclear weapons parts and modern sophisticated weapons to Turkey for it's "blind eye" cooperation.

President Bush is to put it very simply not a good person. He is abysmally ignorant and if he knew about the Armenian Genocide he would say, "so what?"

One day all of this deceit will unravel and historians will know the awful things that have happened but by that time no one will care and the US will be doing in some other place what is does so well. There is no "National US" interest in supporting Turkey apart from a few oil pipelines.

Turkey helped Pakistan get its nuclear weapons. If, one day, an Arab hydrogen bomb were to turn up, or should I say "blow up" in Washington DC I would be interested in what the spin doctors would say about that.

Governments and politicians tend to act in their own national interests. That's what patriotism is all about.

And since Turkey is an ally of USA, it doesn't make sense for USA to raise the issue of Armenian genocide and spoil their relationship with Turkey.

If Armenians had a strong and powerful lobby in USA that influenced US politicians, then perhaps the US government would have been less two-faced about the Armenian genocide in Turkey.
