try reinstalling them. something has corrupted the programs. you might have download something that did this. run a viral and spyware scan. also an adware scan can't hurt.

if you are using windows vista and have a coffee cup icon in your system tray (the area next to the system clock on the lower right of your screen) you may have problems because windows vista changes modes when java applications run (mostly from web-sites built on java)
