one of two things.. either 1 you got some liquids inside of your computer, and if you did that, youd smell rubbery smoke in the air.. the only other thing it could be is the fan.. either it is going bad or its dirty... i suggest you open your sleeve and unhook the fan.. air blow the dust off it and then reinsert it and wait like an hour.. you might also try keeping you computer on at all times.. it give you less of a chance to compile dust in your fan and if its constantly on, the fan will always keep your computer cool

There may be a number of problems. try running spybot or ad-aware and looking for harmful malware. Malware can cause physical damage to your system resulting in loud clicking or electrical pitches.

maybe that sound didn't come from the fan... maybe you should check your cpu heatsink fan (mostly stock fan).. if there is a lot of dust in your heatsink, your cpu fan will make some loud noise... i also have same problem before... if the noise came from your hardware, maybe you should get something that less noise...

I even have an AT&T NOKIA and at cases, this is going to touch AT&T for updates. bizarre scratching noise on my audio gadget if the telephone is close to the computing gadget. truthful Sarge

make sure you clean the fan screens with canned air...if that doesn't fix it you may be looking at replacing your hard drive or worse.the hard drive will get noisy before it fails...good luck
