Is photography allowed in Delhi's Akshardham Temple? If yes is any fee charged? If not, can you carry your camera shut or is there a provision of a cloakroom to keep it for safe keeping?

Hi all... I'm just back from te temple.... Photography is not allowed so I did not carry my camera... but I say guys they treat you real bad... indeed like "atankvadi"... one of the guys thought the SOS sorbitrate tablets and the semi daonil tablets I was carrying were some kind of a button explosive/ detonator... made me get rid of them before I was allowed in....sic... friends, thanks for all your feed back and now I've also added mine.....

The main reason that they do not allow flash photography is because it wrecks the magic of the ride for the rest of the people on the ride. If every single person riding the ride was clicking their camera and taking flash pictures, you wouldn't be able to see the things that you are looking at on the ride whether it's ghosts or pirates. Additionally, when you take flash photos you see all of the imperfections in the sets, expose the wires, and similar things that they tried so desperately to hide. Why take away the magic when it's supposed to be a dark ride?

No, Private photography is strictly prohibited in the temple. but they have their own photographer in front of the main temple (when you will go insiide) so you can ask them to click photograph an they will also handover you photographs on the spot. Not sure about charges but on the size of photograph it is between 100 to 200Rs.

No. electronics are not allowed in. They treat you like Atankvadi. It is bad. You are supposed to move silently with no food from your own.
I visited in my car and entrance is very bad for entry of vehicles. Entry should be plain / levelled so that vehicle is not thrown back. If way is empty, vehicle can climb easily but in queue, vehicle go back. Building is good but treatment is 3rd class.
