I'd say perhaps it is because they are all cynically bitter about how many stupid people civilisation has allowed to proliferate this planet.
And, it's an outlet for those of us who cannot call the idiot's BS in real life because it's not profitable to do so.

Maybe what YOU view as a serious answer and other's view as a serious answer are different. We all don't think alike. We all don't come from the same mind. We all have our own individual brains. We are not part of a collective, we have not been assimilated. Maybe what you are looking for are people more like The Borg...Seriously, at any rate, if you don't like the answers you get maybe this isn't the place to ask your questions...
