my moniter screen is gianormous how do i decrease the size

check the DPI and The Resolution that your computer use at your monitor. To check it out, find Display and Settings on the Control Panel.

Have you tried resetting your desktop properties (see previous valid answers) and you're still not satisfied or maybe your screen shows only a portion of the whole; then you might have to tinker with your monitor's hardware setting control button/s. This might be tricky as these control buttons are not uniform - sometimes it's just a few multi-function buttons or a full line for each control function - you'll have to figure out how to increase the horizontal or vertical size, etc. on these control buttons. They usually appear in front of the monitor or slightly under the monitor screen.

change your resolution settings.

First, right click on some empty space on your desktop, then click on properties, then click on the Settings tab. On the bottom left side of that window, there will be a resolution slider bar. Mess around by moving the slider bar, until you have a resolution you like better

right click on desktop and the go to display properties ..there resize ur moniter with 1024 * 768 ..
