Al Gore stands and rants about global warming while his own electric bill is $30,000. How can anyone stand with him who cares about the environment when he clearly is a hypocrite?
He flys his own private airplane, rides in limos but tells us to drive a Prius.

Big time. Liberals usually make claims of how we should be conducting ourselves until they themselves are asked to do the same. "Do as I say, not as I do", Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy is an interesting book to read. Check it out!

JUSTTHEJAKESTER: What LIBERALS fail to understand, is when algore or anybody else buys carbon offsets, they are purchased from institutions that AL GORE has a financial interest in!!! Care to explain THAT?!?

in my opinion, i imagine each person has incredibly of hypocrisy in them. no matter if surely, I have the suitable issue with those who declare to be "Christians", yet do unchristian issues.... no longer that I have some thing antagonistic to Christians or the different faith, my mothers and fathers are Christians and that i believe in Christianity. I only have a issue with some Christians who criticize others because they believe they don't seem "christian sufficient".... to me, there is not any more effective hypocrite than someone who does that because by technique of doing that, they're proving that they are no extra valuable than the guy that they are criticizing. only my humble opinion....

Al Gore is not a hypocrite. It's easy to fall into Republican talking points when you don't research the claims first:

"1) Gore’s family has taken numerous steps to reduce the carbon footprint of their private residence, including signing up for 100 percent green power through Green Power Switch, installing solar panels, and using compact fluorescent bulbs and other energy saving technology.

2) Gore has had a consistent position of purchasing carbon offsets to offset the family’s carbon footprint — a concept the right-wing fails to understand. Gore’s office explains, :What Mr. Gore has asked is that every family calculate their carbon footprint and try to reduce it as much as possible. Once they have done so, he then advocates that they purchase offsets, as the Gore’s do, to bring their footprint down to zero.:"

Also keep in mind the "non-partisan think tank" that first reported on this information is, in fact, a right-wing media outfit.

Is, was and always will be. He is a socialist, a proud member of the Vanguard of the Elite, he gets to spew lies with impunity, gets to keep his fortune and fame while he tells everyone else we should all go bankrupt because the earth has a fever..........................what a lunatic, as well as all of his stupid followers.

No. I know he's a hypocrite. If one of your mansions uses 20 times the energy of the average America home, you don't get to tell me to conserve.

I think he is one of the few politicians with integrity.

He could have retired to a quiet life outside of politics, since he is independently wealthy and has already lead a full public life. He could have run for president in 2004 or 2008. He's not in this for the money, because he could have gotten a lot more by joining corporate boards without doing any real work.

Instead, he chose to dedicate himself to a cause he believes in. If you disagree with him, do it based on the facts of the case, not in an ad hominem attack on a man who is fighting for what he believes is necessary and right.

We're all hypocrites. Gore is no different. Pick your poison; Bush's War that is destroying lives, -or Gore's message about trying to save some. Gore is just a "messenger" we can always ignore. Bush is a "decider" whose "message" brings death every day. I'll take my chances with Gore.

Yes, but this should not be used to discredit his basic argument. People are using his hypocrisy to distract attention from the fact that he has a mostly valid point. He just needs to listen to himself and set a better example.

First of all get your facts straight. I don't understand exactly how it works, but there is a trade off that he makes to "atone" for the high electric bill. Did you bother to research this fact? And where did you get $30 K? Is this per month? Per annum? And where are your facts to back up the Limo/plane comments?

It's one thing to call someone out whose rhetoric doesn't match their actions, but Mr. Gore has spent the majority of his life trying to get us to care about the earth which sustains US ALL. And if you *are* going to attack a true activist like Mr. Gore have the decency to do some fact-checking first.

Now compare that record with the hypocrit in the Whitehouse who lectures about "respect for life" and then proceeds to conduct a killing spree.

Of course he is a hypocrite,if he cared at all about what he preaches he would lead by example, not in energy consumption.
