Lately I have seen a lot of stories in the news and on health channels about this issue.

They say Love conqueres all but when it happens, some stick around and make the best of it while others bail after the "unveiling" I'm not saying it's right or wrong either way because no one can fault you for feeling the way you feel.

As far as to what kind of disfigurement we are talking about I leave that up to your own imagination, if you are having trouble,

imagine a burn victim,

or someone with severe phisicall trauma from an assault,

or acid burn, you get the idea.

Again I don't think there is a right or wrong here because what you say today may change if (god forbid) it happens to you.

So fight or flight, what would you do?

Tell Matticus he WANTS to KNOW.

To be honest, I don't think anyone who's not IN this situation, can answer this question.

Of course I'd like to say I'd stay with the one I love (and I THINK I absolutely WOULD), but I can't give guarantees, cuz this hasn't happened to MY loved one. (and I hope it never does, for HIS sake)

Well i feel beauty comes from within a person. A beautiful soul is what makes the outside shine no matter what type of disfigurement they have.

And let me tell you....i know a lot of people that are beautiful and very attractive outside, but are disfigured on the inside.

So my answer would be to remain by my loved ones side no matter how disfigured their body outside might be.

No, I wouldn't leave someone that I love just because of a disfigurement. That wouldn't be real love now would it. But some people I am sure do. But those same people will stick with a low life cheater until the end. This is a twisted world.

My Husband had throat cancer. They had to remove his voice box, lymph nodes and an artery in his neck. He now has a hole, which is called a Stoma, in his neck to breath through. 19 years ago he lost 2 fingers. So far what has happened to him hasn't ran me off. If his attitude changes for the worse then that would be a deciding factor for me.

People say that love conqueres it all until they find themselves in the situation. I say it depends on how young/old the people are and how long they have been in their relationship to figure out whether if they should or shouldn't stay together.

No, I would not leave him. I fell in love with the person on the inside not the outside. If he accepted me first with all my broken imperfections inside and outside, then there is no doubt in my mind that I would always accept him no matter what he looked like.

My husband and I both have living wills, so neither of us would be brought back if we have actually died, nor would we be hooked up to machines to keep us alive. That being said, if we survived what ever it was that disfigured us, yes we would stay.

Nope, I love my hunny-bunny and would never leave him over something like that. Our vows were "till death do us part". That's a really good question though & it does make one stop and think about things a little more.

Not a chance. I love my sweetheart and I'm committed to our relationship unconditionally. I love her for the love and spirit she brings into our relationship. There is no way I would even consider it.
