I feel, its our B. C.C.I. & selectors, responsible jointly. We have many thousands of talents in India. India is a very vast country, having world’s second largest population! Just imagine, how many villages, small and big cities are there in India?
All these villages and cities are having schools, colleges, educational institutes, sports clubs etc.
Well, could be in lacks!!! So, if we imagine at least one cricket team in each of these schools, colleges, sports clubs etc., than how many cricket teams are there in the country?
Suppose, from each team if we find only one all-rounder or a specialist bowler or a batsman, than in all how many players can we find? After proper training suppose these numbers reduces from lacks to thousands than also several hundreds of teams can be formed. Instead of doing such activities of finding out new talents, our cricket control boards, and selectors are wasting their energy time and money in unwanted matters. They just don't select correct players. Because as I have stated, in India we are having plenty of talented youths available. What is the use of retaining aged, handicapped due to injuries, players who are out of form and still not trying for improvements, and having diversified interests other than cricket? Even if they are experienced? They are not useful in wining a match. Those who are failing repeatedly, gets chance in the team. Because of such failing and not performing or improving players, Indian team does not get any benefit in wining. Such players are to be replaced instantly we have already given enough chances.
India can remain on the top forever, yes, only and only if those who are having authority, perform their duty honestly in favour of the nation, India.

I agree 100% with the questioner. It is a downfall in to a deep valley. Professional approach is the need of the hour.It can be done by appointing specialists like IAS or MBA professionals, and.....
Throw out each and every officials of our cricket control board.
I am really not able to understand their merit, why they are in that place?
What is their contribution towards the game of cricket?
They are responsible for selection and sheltering such useless players.
Unless they are removed, nothing good will happen

hi friend I m just another disappointed Indian cricket fan like you..
well i think the problem with our team has certainly not been dearth of talent,
we have all the experience in the world,a strong batting line up
its obviously the level of competence thet has to b blamed,
the low level and below par intensity shown by the players on the field
and i would blame the strucure of domestic cricket in India 4 this
see, we have 27 teams competing at the domestic level,
this reduces the level of competence
but,take 4 instance Aus.
they have just 4
so actually you are choosing from the best of the best
as far as the coach is concerned
he has a very small role
what can he do if people like Sachin fail
but ya u can blamehim 4 poor strategies 4 sure
bye

This is after all a game and that doesnot mean that our players are always going to get the victory. The second thing is that they were really given that comfort which made them casually play.
But still then their is a hope that after such a great fall they being the Indians will rise again.

Under estimation of Bangladesh or over confidence in the first match. And Inability to rise to the occasion when facing a do or die situation against SriLanka.
Even before the start of the series they were looking at super 8 and beyond without realising the danger lying at the first step.
They take it easy when everything appears normal and buckle under pressure during crisis.
The Indian team must always be aware of where they stand taking nothing for granted.
Rahul must perhaps be thinking of providing batting practice and trying out some batting combinations when he was brought to reality caught stunning.Very poor decision.

We did not have a young team. We had so many lazy old dead horses like Ganguly, Tendulkar(over pampered), Dravid( slow for one day games), Kumble(oveaged & not being able to turn the ball at at wide angles), having no reliable all rounder, no bowler having speed above 150 km/hour & accuracy. We did not have any brilliant fielder of the calibre of Mohd Kaif(who saves 80 runs per match in each ODI) or Raina even. We included highly sustandard bowlers like Agarkar(the worst in India) & Zaheer Khan. We did not give enough chances to Irfan Pathan & S. Sreesanth(poor boy remained only a passenger in the team). We did not have proper planning & strategy & badly underestimated young & dynamic Bangladesh team. We do not give chances to young deserving players like youngsters from West Bengal team which reached final twice in succession & shmelessly overpamper Maharastrians like A. Agarkar, slow, fat & bulky Ramesh Powar & Zaheer(who was already dead few years ago). Arbitrariness & favouritism of Marathis was clearly evident. BCCI in Mumbai has mostly Marathi selectors who are habitually dead bias against Hindi heartland , particularly Uttar Pradesh which creates biggest procession of talented persons in services like IAS, IES, IFS(forest officers), Ralway Officers & Bank officers. Results declared by UPSC & Staff Selection Commission every year speak volumes about the same where no bias or arbitrariness exists & only merit & quality are considerd(otherwise India would have disintegrated long ago). Unless bogus Vengsarkar is kicked out, no significant improvement is expected.

It is not a downfall, it a free fall ! It will take a while for us to recover.Reasons are many and vary from fan to fan.here is a list of my reasons.
1.Lack of ability to work as team
2.Too much attention to non cricket activites like Advertisement, socialising, media ..
3.Lack of respect for the advices given by coach [ how can you explain so many Wides and No balls other wise?]
4.Too much of hype by media, resulting in too much of pressure on cricketers
5. Lack of ability to adjust to foreign climates, food, environment, pitches
6.Lack of application amongst senior players to training and physical featness...

Everyone is not on the same page thats why. I mean the players, the coach, the selectors, the cricket board everyone has to be on the same page and agree with everything.

Hi Friends,
I feel that our so called heroes are highly over-rated by the media and by ourself. Also the seniors who couldn't deliver when its mattered most, has worsened the situation. Last but not the least they spend more time in front of cameras rather than going for net.
