Who really knows? You know, last night I had a dream which was replete with people dying. They were all dying in terrible, awful ways and they were all my close friends and family. There was blood everywhere and I watched as the people I loved fell in the streets, one by one. It was bizarre. A weird twist to the dream was when I watched a storm trooper-like character blow Cameron Diaz's head half away with a huge gun. Cameron Diaz, why her? You know, I hardly ever think about that actress. I held Cameron in my arms while she died, the blood flowing all over arms and my clothes. After she had died, I carried her body down the street and laid it on the stoop of a house. The house looked like one in San Francisco. I set up a real bed next to the stoop, frame, matress, sheets, bed skirt, comforter. I put Cameron in it. I put a hat on her head and laid her head on the pillow, positioning her head and the hat just right so you couldn't see that half her skull was gone. I covered her up with the comforter and then went back to the people dying in the street. It's weird, I don't understand it but it entertained me. I say just chalk it up to the brain's sometimes freaky synaptic processing.

Death
To dream about the death of a loved one, suggests that you are lacking a certain aspect or quality that the loved one embodies. Ask yourself what makes this person special or what do you like about him. It is that very quality that you are lacking in your own relationship or circumstances. Alternatively, it indicates that whatever that person represents has no part in your own life.

Friend
To see your friends in your dream, signifies aspects of your personality that you have rejected, but are ready to integrate these rejected part of yourself. The relationships you have with those around you are important in learning about yourself. Additionally, this symbol foretells of happy tidings from them and the arrival of good news.

To see your friends, saddened and troubled, in your dream, signifies sickness and distress upon them.

To see your childhood friend in your dream, signifies regression into your past where you had no responsibilities and things were much simpler and carefree. You may be wanting to escape the the pressures and stresses of adulthood. Consider the relationship you had with this friend and the lessons that were learned. Alternatively, the childhood friend may be suggesting that you have been acting in a childish manner and you need to start acting like an adult.

Dreams are almost never literal. Usually its about some fear we may have or what that person represents to us. So you may be fearful about him leaving you as a friend. It may also mean that you are afriad of losing a part of yourself that he represents meaning he may represent an innocence or something good to you and you may fear a loss of innocence or something good.
When thinking about the meaning of dream try to think what does the person or situation mean to you and what are you at risk of losing or gaining or fearing. Well good luck!

It may mean you are trying to reconcile what that person means in your life, and what kind of void losing that person may cause.

Sometimes dreams are just processing garbage that occured during the day. So maybe someone joked about that person being dead, or that person said, "I'd rather be dead than ____" and your were too busy to think about it, so your subconscious is just processing the concept.

fear of losing him, i think it's common if you're good friends. you don't want him to die because he's such a good friend and would feel sad if you lost him.
