i took a pregnancy test this morning and i saw what i thought to be a very faint positive line. a few hours later i looked at the test and it just looked like an evap line (i know your not suppose to look at them that long afterwards) i just took another test, a different brand, and it was negative. i was getting my hopes up so much no i feel sick to my stomach with disapointment. trying to have a baby is hard. but anyway my question is do i still have a chance of being pregnant? im going to take another test in the morning. its only 3 days past when my period is due if that helps. and i know that none of you can really know if im pregnant or not but has anything like this happened to you and were you pregnant? sorry so long this is just hard for me.

No matter how faint the line, if there was a line, you're pregnant! Congrats! Just for peace of mind, take another test in the morning when your urine is more concentrated...I'm certain it will be positive. If you still have questions, call your doctor. He can do a blood test that will tell you beyond a doubt whether or not you are expecting.

Try and stay positive... I know it's hard, trust me. 1) Tests are not accurate after they sit for too long. 2) False negatives happen sometimes but False Positives rarely happen... I would take another one before I got too upset. My advice is to take a break from trying. Try to get in your head that it will happen when it's time. Me and my hubby tried for over a year and finally I gave up and said if it happens it happens. I almost got bored with taking pregnancy tests because they always came up negative. I was done crying and being upset. One day I had been sick and missed my period and just casually bought a pregnancy test expecting yet another negative. I got a big surprise two days before my b-day. This one came up positive. I think not stressing about it so much helped a lot. Good luck and I hope you get the bundle of joy you want!

Different HPT tests different HCG levels and you are right they are not to be read after a certain time so it may have had a faint line. Definately test with first morning urine and if you are it should be positive. Taking one later in the day as you did today and it was negative could have been less HCG because it wasn't as concentrated in the urine (perhaps you had drank alot?) I wish you much luck.. Took me 10 years to have a healthy pregnancy so I know how it feels....

Look, a positive is a positive. You are pregnant. Tests aren't valid more than 20 minutes after they're taken, so disregard the disappearing line.
As far as the second test, your urine was less concentrated because it was later in the day. Take another one tomorrow morning to reassure yourself.

The same thing happen to me. I waiting 1½ week and took the digital test and it came out positive, my little boy was born in December. Just give it a little more time.

Yes, this happened to me. I was about a week late and the line was VERY faint. I was pregnant. Give it a little more time. I hope you are, and if you aren't, God has the timing just right for you and you will be blessed!
