birth control pills can help. i've tried them. i am starting the pill that makes u have your period every three months that way i don't have to deal with the symptoms as much.i'm on seasonique. i used to throw up too, and when i told a doctor he said sometimes the pain is so bad it makes you throw up. he precribed pain medications like naproxen and darvocet. the naproxen works great for me. brings me rite back to normal

The pill works fairly well at controlling cramps. They don't go away completely but they are fixable with OTC pain meds. If you take continuous therapy (like Seasonale, or regular monophasic pills skipping the placebo week) the periods eventually dwindle to practically nothing.

Side effects - mild nausea in the first month (especially with Yasmin) is the only one I have encountered. Also most pills cause some weight gain (1-2 lbs on average). There is a very small risk of blood clots. Some women may have a variety of other side effects.

I think if you are throwing up, you should definitely ask your doctor about hormonal birth control.

Birth control pills aren't too bad in terms of side effects (they can actually help acne, and some women lose a little weight when they start the pill) however they do increase your risk of blood clot and stroke. If cramps is really the only reason you would go on the pill, then I would suggest trying something else like ibuprofen, midol, or a prescription pain reliever first.

that is called dysmenorrhea, meaning pain on the first day of menstruation. i dont believe that pills will help ease the pain. what you should do is exercise. i had that pain before but after i gave birth with my first child, its gone. tylenol or ibuprofen will help you ease the pain or you can also try warm compress.
