I'm assuming that you are referring to British taxes on the colonies and more specifically the American colonies. With that in mind I'm giving you a link to a discussion of mercantilism and the Navigation Acts as a basis for colonial taxation. This link includes the Sugar act of 1764, the Stamp and Quartering Acts of 1765, the Townshend Acts of 1767, the Tea Act of 1773, and others.
