carpel tunnel syndrome. at night your first three fingers and maybe your thumb go numb. In the morning they are numb and they dont wake up for a few hours? I had the same thing, asked an old friend of mine who had the same thing when he was younger - he told me its carpel tunnel syndrome.
Stop working with your hands! it will just get worse requiring an operation to fix. Also when you sleep try to sleep with your hand open, not all clenched up. Lie with your palm flat on the mattress. It worked for me - no more numbness.
If it continues - see a doctor.

Have your doctor check your blood sugars as this could be an early sign of neuropathy which is often cause by diabetes. Without knowing more it's tough to call. Could also be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

You may have pinched a nerve somewhere. I stand on my feet all day at work, if I'm not wearing the right shoes, my feet go numb or tingly. You could be aggrevating it during the day. What kind of work do you do?

Probably carpal tunnel, especially with the hand getting numb while sleeping.

I am going to venture a guess and say it is the index, middle, and ring fingers. You are likely experiencing some inpingement of the median nerve.
