I haven't had a period since July of last year. My doctor put me on Provera to help regulate my cycle. Has anyone taken this drug before? I am also on metmorfin too. Do these drugs help to conceive?

Provera will trick your system into ovulating, it is a hormone... your doc may have you take it every other month or so until your cycles remember to start themselves. Metformin is usually given to women with insulin issues, it is actually a diabetic drug for those who are type 2 diabetic, however, when your sugars regulate, your cycles tend to return to normal as well. I am assuming you have PCOS or symptoms similar to it? Metformin will be a great help. You can also stay on the metformin during pregnancy if your doctor says it's ok.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

My doc prescribed both of these medications for me this morning. She only prescribed the provera for 5 days for me to "jump start" my period. I'd like to see how this discussion turns out.
