how do i remind myslef not to shoot and to look for the pass

Dear firlotte,
i think you have to see what the defense gives you. You are likely a one dimensional player who mainly shoots and scores, you can use your pump fake to get past your defender and dish the ball when a help defender comes to you.
i would say you can't just get it in your mind when you get the ball i'll shoot or pass- you have to see how your defender is guarding you.
If you have to remind yourself to pass then you probably aren't too used to it- and i guess you have to start working on that. It'll probably also help you to play with the same people so that you learn their tendencies and passing will be a lot easier.
After awhile you'll find giving assists as fun as scoring.

Make it your goal only to shoot if you have the easy clear shot or are totally open. Otherwise, always look for the opportunity to set up oneof your teammates. Your goal needs to be, instead of how many points can i get, how many assists can i get. What made magic johnson great was his assist ability.

Look for open players and pass it to them. Stop trying to create your shot.

just practice more on passing and you will soon stop shooting as much
