When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?

Yea, I think it is a case of over-stating the obvious that always gets me upset. Like when someone says, "be careful" after I've tripped over the curb or stubbed my toe on a chair. As if my powers of determining how to keep out of harms way can be aided right then, when I'm in pain, by being reminded!!
Actually, a professor of mine told me if you lose something at home and can't find what you are looking for after 5 minutes-or 10 at the most, then give up and do something else because chances are you eventually will "find" what you were searching for anyway. So, how's that for an answer?

I couldn't find my glasses for three weeks. Turns out, I must have been spaced out one day and I accidentally put them in a freezer.
My husband was telling my mother-in-law on the phone that was the last place I looked and found them.
I didn't search in there! I would never search in there! That wouldn't be a place to look in at all, not the first, not the last!
I accidentally found them. Man....!

You must get headaches from thinking so much :-). Yes it is an annoying saying...there are many...how about people who use 'at' incorrectly.....'where are you at' Why not just say 'where are you' hope that one doesnt give you more headaches....:-)
