Implication is the act of suggesting as naturally to be understood easily.
So, it is expected from you to demonstrate the positives, limitations, results, benefits and contradictions of the trends mentioned.

Look at the key words in this question. "Implications" is the subject form of the verb "imply". "Trends" is the plural of "trend" which is simply and identifiable path of behavior or other action. So, the question means, what does this trend imply, or, what does this trend or these trends mean, or what are the possible meanings of these trends for the future. God Bless you.

implication is your main word as long as you understand it then you will understand the question.
implication= involvement, effect, hint . . .
"What are the . . . (involvements, effects, or hint) of these trends."
although you also need to know what trends you are talking about.

Most literally, it means, "If we look at what is happening in these three examples, what might we expect to occur in the future?" or "Based on what is going on, what might be the underlying cause?"
It's hard to know exactly without knowing the trends you're studying.
