Check out the Discover DFW website you will find all of the attractions that are in Dallas. I am a Dallas resident and I think there are plenty of things to do here.

I live in Dallas and I can tell you that it's not the greatest place to travel. There's nothing terribly special about it. I would compare Dallas to one of those cities where it would be nice to experience it in your lifetime, however, it's not exactly the pinnacle of travel destinations.

The museums lack the appeal of other big cities. The only "must-see" in Dallas is the site of the Kennedy shooting as well as the 6th Floor museum. Other than that, there aren't very many things here that you couldn't get somewhere else. There's shopping and many restaurants, however, these could be found in just about any city with more historical locations.

Dallas is a nice place to live, however, it's not the ultimate travel destination.

Well, it all depends on who you ask. Dont be fooled, Dallas is a good place to travel. I, being born and raised in NYC, find it refreshing to be here where there is great cultural, historical sites and shopping with a slower, more relaxed twist. I moved here after my first trip to the original Nieman-Marcus store back in 1975 and I love it!
The downsides that I can see is the weather. The heat can fry an egg on the sidewalk....literally (tried it ). The mass transit system is good but, it needs to extend and branch out a bit. The distance factor is also to be considered. Dallas is the same size as Manhattan island with 1/4 of the population. Enough said! Finally, there are some who can be a bit.....anti-people. You can spot them here because it is so spread out!
Before you come, take a look at www.traveltex.com and www.dart.org and plan on renting a car with GPS. It saves time and a lot of shoe leather. Have a great trip to the Big D!

I was wondering this myself or another area or state. As far as entertainment and great cultural feel to experience a good city would Dallas be good one or even another state and particular large city?

Actually, we enjoy going to Dallas. There are lots to do and see, sports, shopping, dining, museums, history, and the hotels are great too. Try it for yourself, then decide.
