I wanted to know some titles of albums or songs by Johnny Cash. I'm not really familiar with his music but I have the song "Hurt" and I love it. So if anybody can reccomend anymore that would be great!

His last while he was alive was The Man Comes Around. It's the one with the Nine Inch Nails cover, Hurt. He was on Columbia records when he did Ring of Fire, Tenessee Flat Top Box,(Hands down, my favorite, to answer your question) The Ballad of Ira Hays, Jackson, One Piece at a time, etc. The period he had on Sun records is his "classic" period- I Walk The Line, Cry Cry Cry, Ballad of a Teenage Queen, Big River. I'd reccomend any large compilation of the Sun classics, plus a greatest hits from his Columbia period. The Man Comes Around, which entranced me when I heard it, is from his Rick Rubin-produced period, of which he did about five cds.

Let me tell you, as someon who loves music and likes movies I saw "Walk the Line" the movie they made on his life and I would say, without being a fan but appreciating the music, try the soundtrack to the film. It is sure to have some classic older songs and possibly one of the duets with his 2nd wife....sorry, can't recall her name. But, there you are, my suggestion. Happy hunting & happy listening --whatever you find. :)

Did you see "Walk the Line?" That's a pretty good place to start even though the songs are covered by Joaquin Phoenix (he actually does a good job).
