Now that the makers of Ribena have admitted in court that their advertising has been misleading the public for years into believing that the product had health benefits (high vitamin c levels) how do you feel about this con?

Like all the other bunk that comes out of the publicity/marketing machine/tv/newspapers etc.etc. I'm starting to not get shocked anymore. This surprises me a little, but hey, it appears it's just open slather. You know, they're just allowed to say anything they like. I don't believe anything I just do mine own thing, bout time more people started thinking for themselves anyway cos the marketing machine jus feeds off people's ignorances ..............:0)

PEACE

*** EDIT *****

Ribena and the like should be deathly ashamed of themselves, but like I said, it appears they can say and claim anything they like about our food and drink .............:0)

Since the absence of vitamin C was only found in samples in New Zealand and all other countries in which Ribena is sold con tainted the stated label claim of vitamin C, it looks like this could possibly be a manufacturing error and not deliberate fraud as the question implies.

Ribena is a product of Glaxo a gigantic pharmaceutical company with billions of dollars in sales of prescription drugs. Would it make sense for Glaxo to ruin its reputation and incur regulatory wrath on behalf of Ribena, a product that has world wide sales that are insignificant compared to Rx sales?
