Some varieties are out there. Jungle fowl are similar to fighting cocks. Not like the chickens we know and are familiar with. There are Prairie Chickens on the plains of Ks. in the US but they are actually Grouse. Other than these I'm sure there are some Ferrel chickens in some areas but not sure.

Modern domestic chooks are bred from the red jungle fowl, gallus gallus, of India and other parts of Asia. In many countries domestic fowl have escaped and gone wild.

Depends on where you live. You would see one if you lived in Asia. All of today's domesticated hybrid chickens came from the wild fowl of Asia.

If you live in North America you may see wild turkey. America's wild turkey are the ancestors to the worlds domestic breeds. Yes, all those big white fat turkeys have genetic links to the wild turkey.

originally chickens came from the steppes of russia,and the closest wild things to chicken are guinny fowl,feasants ,and partridge
