Are your parents really strict? How do you deal with that?! I keep getting in to fights with my mom and I HATE it. I don't want to fight with her but she won't leave me alone!! We fight about bedtime, my friends (thats a new one. She doesn't one of my friends cuz she goth.), texting (which I pay for so she shouldn't care!!), and a bunch of other little things.

I'm a little old to worry about my parents now, but they were very strict when I was a teenager. I think you'll find the thing with the texting is not the cost, but the disobedience. At your age, she is probably feeling that you are 'escaping' her control, which you are. Mine were very controlling, I was not allowed makeup, short skirts, or use of a phone except at certain hours. As I got older, she freaked out because I was escaping her control. You want freedom, she needs to feel she is still 'the mom', and her word goes. Bottom line, it does. Her house, her rules. You don't like it now, but you'll understand it when your turn comes, believe me! lol - y'all will get over this, even though it doesn't seem like it now. Minor caution, don't do anything you think you might regret later. My mother died when I was 20. I did a lot of things as a teenager that now I wish I could tell her I was sorry for.
Sorry if I sound like your mom - I'm probably old enough to be HER mom!

Okay, *Insert my childs name here* how are you on the computer in MY bedroom, when I just sent you to bed??? (LoL!)
I don't think I'm strict really.....I just think there should be limits set. My daughter and I, we fight about the same things you and your mom fight about...its universal really.....meaning EVERY parent has these same kind've fights with their kids.....
Parents cannot choose your friends, that never works out....I remember this from when I was your age and I see it with my own daughter, so your mom really needs to give that one up (Unless they are like really bad and get you drinking or doing drugs or other things /:)
The texting!!! Omg....we have fought over this one twice today....as she DOES NOT pay for her own texts and doesn't understand why she just can't text whoever, however many times she wants to......I haven't figured out the solution to this one yet....but KUDOS to you for paying for your own!
Just remember that your mom only wants what is best for you.....and trust me, as I still fight with my own mother (and I'm 38) 99.9% of the time......the MOM is right............................:(
:) Have a good night!

My mom was horrible when i was growing up. I wasn't allowed gum, fast food or soda, she would come in my room and make sure everything was in its right spot. Once I had socks in my underwear drawer and I could not watch TV for 2 days. If i did not eat all of my dinner it was served to me for breakfast. The only way to get through it is too just follow your moms rules to try and make your relationship better. Now that I am 19 and moved out me and my mom are the best of friends!

I was raised strict and I hated it. But now I'm glad cause it kept me out of a lot of trouble I could of got into. Act like an adult and your mom will treat you more like one. Sitting there yellin back at her isn't going to help. But I know how you feel and she'll come around.

She loves you and wants the best for you. Yes, believe it or not, that's what it's all about. Interestingly and irritatingly enough, in a few years you'll look back and see that she was right about so many things. (I know I did.)
I am strict with my son about certain things (bedtime, where he goes, grades, courtesy), but very relaxed about other things. It's a balance.

i'm grown now, but my parents were strict when i was growning up. it's a good thing; knowing that i'd get a good spanking is probably what's kept me out of jail, or worse
