Okay in late January, a local radio station in Milwaukee (THE HOG) made an announcement about an article pertaining to a PLAY BY PLAY on what Manning is thinking before he passes the ball.

I've tried to contact them for this article but have had NO LUCK..

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THIS ARTICLE?????

Basically, it talked about a step by step, second by second, play by play of what is going through his head BEFORE he snaps the ball...

ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

The story is that in the huddle PM 80% of the time only gives a basic formation call and the snap count. Of the plays called in the huddle, most are changed at the line. He's rumored to call about 90% of all plays at the line of scrimmage..NO other active QB is over 30%.
This has never been done before. I believe Len Dawson (Chiefs) was the last QB to call his own plays, and that was in the huddle not at the line. Sure, they all change a play once in a while but nothing like what he's doing.
The 1st step is to call the snap count quickly and get to the line w/lots of time left on the play clock.
The 1st thing he does at the line is identify a Miss-match.
Most common examples.
!) single coverage on top receiver
2) with all receivers in a pattern do they have a DB or an
LB left to cover a RB.
3) can a small DB be forced into having to cover our TE
4) do they have enough men in the box to stop the run

Get the idea? FYI, I believe the article you're looking for was in the Sporting News

sit down and brace your self. No, it does no longer, and right that's why. a million. The communicate is stilted. Seth speaks like the archetypal boy next door, and Leah and Lisa have the same voice. 2. Grammar is your pal. make investments in a duplicate of the coolest ol' Strunk & White ("the elements of want" by William Strunk and EB White). examine it thoroughly. for instance, the graf after the damage, your speaker transformations 3 cases, with out paragraph damage. The undesirable command of grammar jars the reader and disrupts the pass of the tale. 3. the marriage invitation is written incorrectly, and traditionally, only about all those requests aren't any more dealt with in writing--they're finished in man or woman. also, wedding ceremony invites of any style come from bride and groom, no longer bride and bride's mom. 4. i visit already tell the position that's going halfway by potential of your exposition. She is going to the marriage, realizes she's in love with Seth, they stay fortunately ever after, the end. to avert this being the finished-to-death love tale, I advise you jettison Miranda and the marriage fullyyt (till that's someway pivotal to the tale in a lengthy time period), and concentrate on the nature progression of Seth and Leah. cause them to a lot less flat, more suitable exciting--more suitable *human*. supply the target audience a reason to concurrently love Seth and imagine he'd be a foul boyfriend. Make Leah more suitable than the by no potential-been-kissed schoolgirl. wish this enables.

He has to look where the D backs are, up close or playing back, where are linebackers? Are they going to blitz? Will the D line stunt? Where is the first down line? Does he need to call an audible to run something else, based on the defense. And all of this in seconds.

I think he's given a general formation, a run play right, a run play left, and a basic pass pattern. Based on what he sees at the LOS he makes the changes and they score.

Not a thing, because he doesn't snap the ball. He's a Quarterback, the Center snaps the ball to him...
