Just wondering, some wimmen on here seem to have a low opinion of Ann Coulter, including me, but I'm not sure why. Of course, anyone who has a problem with strong women is a misogynist, so obviously she's not a strong woman, so let's run through the criteria as extolled on here before shall we:
* Emotionally strong, able to emotionally defend herself - Well she has a potty mouth and apparently "loves to pick fights with liberals":
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2002/07/19/wmed19.xml
Also, she doesn't take any bull from men, she recently called a presidential candidate a mean name..
* Independent and supports herself - Well she has a law degree and has worked as a law clerk, litigator and on the Senate Judiciary Committee. She is single.
Of course, she doesn't like feminists very much, but we all it's not whether you toe the feminist party line that makes a woman strong or not is it? HAHAHA. Don't make me laugh.
So what is the reason she is not a strong woman

What is all this, "she may be strong, but.." stuff. No. You have a problem with her and she's a strong, opinionated woman. Therefore, you have a problem with strong opinionated women. That is misogynistic.
Maybe I'm looking into this too much, perhaps I should simply say she is a failure as a human being but not give any reasons as to the logic behind that.. wait, is logic the problem here?
Come on, try harder people.

What is this?
"She's nuts"
"She's a failure as a human being"
"She's a crank"
This is just like my hero Dierde O said in another thread.
http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtffQl8N1iL5IRuHzloTk.vg5gt.?qid=20070325161302AA1ge5R
"When will these attacks be recognized for what they are? Discrimation meant to dehumanize women and try and keep them from voicing their opinions?"
And again in this thread:
http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ah1Mk5TbU2q3bmZpc_bdagsJ5wt.?qid=20070306002813AABq7Cp
"People that have problems with others and how they may show their independance usually have insecurities of their own which they are unable to resolve."
Face it, according to not just my logic, but according to prevailing feminist logic, you people are engaging in discrimination meant to dehumanise women and keep them from voicing their opinions. Ergo you have a problem with strong, opinionated women.

wendy_g stop trying to cover up your penchant for misogyny.
Neither you, nor anyone else was "asked for their opinion on Ann Coulter". You were asked why she isn't a strong woman. You just decided to give your opinion anyway. In case you didn't notice your answer was more or less off topic, and bent on bashing the poor innocent woman.
And here's a thing, you conveniently CAN'T go to any place where you can personally attack her. So conveniently saying that you really WOULDN'T, despite the fact that you like to spew this misogyny at every turn on here, is a rather disingenuous claim to be making.
Face it, unless you can give me a reason she is not strong, you have a problem with strong, opinionated women according to feminist gospel.

Broken record a bit there wendy_g.
*YAWN*
If all you can do to attempt to justify your misogyny is keep repeating an idea that has already been debunked by the wonderful feminists on here, like Dierdre O and myself, then you need to do better I'm afraid.
Abuse directed at strong women is misogyny and misogyny is bad. Get it? Got it? GOOD.

That's right wendy change the subject because you lost. I guess you need to feel having the last word, even if it is completely irrelevant, makes you right, well no it doesn't. It makes you more of a misogynist.
The feminist tribe has spoken.

The problem with Ann Coulter is that she's strong without really wanting to be. As soon as she gets married, she says, she will quit all her jobs "instantly." Meanwhile, her ideological twin, Michelle Malkin, is married, but still maintains her career. That's why I like her more than Coulter. Slightly. A truly strong woman doesn't deny her nature. I like strong women as much as the next person, but she has so many negative qualities that it's impossible for me (a Canadian, Jewish, left-wing feminist) to like her.
I could go into the lies, the blind faith in Republicans, the childish insults, and all the other things that people have wondered about her (which you probably wouldn't enjoy hearing), but that'll take hours.

She is not a strong PERSON because she lives off the sacrifices and work of others. Strong people recognize and honor those who came before them and paved the way for them, sometimes with their own lives. She hates feminists, and yet if it wasn't for their ideology, she couldn't be the "independent woman that supports herself." She claims to be a traditional conservative and devout christian, and yet being an unmarried woman of a certain age, it’s safe to say she has had her fair share of sexual liaisons. So while having premarital sex has she been practicing the “anti-christian” act of contraception or did she abort them all? Again more rights afforded to her by the very people she claims are ruining America. I guess she reconcile all of this by thinking it’s ok for her and not others. Well, then that makes her an elitist, another group she claims to hate and not be part of.

Ann Coulter is not a strong woman because strong people of either gender do not have to be obnoxious, offensive and vulgar to make their opinions and philosophies known.
Ann Coulter does all these things, and she tries to be like men of her ilk-IE: George Bush,Cheney, Rush Limbaugh, etc.
In other words, men who are coarse, ugly and hateful in their speech and actions.
You don't see the feminists that I know behaving the way Ann Coulter does.
So she isn't strong, she is a Man-Wannabe.
Good luck

She's a manipulator. When she's challenged on something she has said she ALWAYS has a non-reply, which is usually a biting attack (sometimes accurate) on those she disagrees with, instead of on the issue at hand.
My favorite maneuver of hers is when she's on Hannity and Colmes and she's challenged on something by Alan Colmes and she just bats her eyes and says "Sean, Alan's being mean again!" What serious person would try to get away with something like that?
That is why she's not a strong person.

Ann Coulter is a bully. It has nothing to do with gender. Bill O'Reilly is her masculine counterpart. Both are second-rate intellects with abrasive personalities.
Coulter presents herself in a sexual manner, dresses and grooms herself in the style of an exotic dancer (my husband's take on her) to get attention.
Ann Coulter also is out of touch with her own needs. She's no longer young, and has no life---no significant other, no children, no one to love and nurture. Sociobiologically speaking, she is a failure. She's nobody's idea of a role model, and not worthy of a discussion, even in yahoo answers. That's why you don't like her.

She has her opinions just like anyone else does. I applaud her for taking it as far as she does. Hey, she believes in something! That's more than I can say for most people. However, I strongly disagree with her views. Every time she says something nasty about someone else, it just gets me so angry. She's the kind of person who has to resort to name calling and shock value to get her point across. Anyone who has to do that can't be too intelligent.

One could say that Ann is a strong woman since she speaks in a forceful way to get her message across. Overall, though, I think Ann is nothing more than a pundit who is cashing in on the political landscape of this country. For that, I don't consider her to be strong, and she is nothing more than a common prostitute.

No one is saying she isn't "strong," she's just nuts. Any woman that would say women "shouldn't be allowed to vote" is NOT going to seen in a favorable light by most women. However, I bet YOU have a new respect for her now, Happy.
EDIT- Just because "we" have a problem with ONE "strong, opinionated woman," does not mean we have a problem with (all) "strong, opinionated women". That would suggest that I have a problem with women being "strong and opinionated". I don't. I have a problem with her opinions. She has a right to express them, and I have a right to think she is batshit crazy for her fallacious and inflammatory rhetoric. I don't have a problem with the aggressive way she makes those ludicrous statements. I actually admire that about her, I just don't care for what she says. So yes, the problem IS logic, YOUR logic, that seems to be the problem.
EDIT-Again, I take issue with her opinion... NOT the way she presents that opinion. IMO, it is what she SAYS that makes her "crazy," not HOW she says it. She could present her herself as a demure little mouse, and if she said "women shouldn't be allowed to vote," then I would still say she is crazy...for enjoying the privileges she simultaneously condemns. I happen to think Rush Limbaugh is nuts, too. That doesn't mean I have a problem with "loud, opinionated men." I rather like them. Ergo, your logic is still faulty. Which you realize, of course.
AND, having an opinion about her is not the same as actively trying to ridicule her in a public forum that she would typically be privy to, in effort to discredit and silence her. I offered an opinion when it was ASKED of me. I don't go around on this forum, (or anywhere else) "bashing" Ann Coulture. But I have my opinion of her.
EDIT--LOLOLOLOL....oh, Happy, you're too much! My "penchant for misogyny"? Lol...projecting again, Happy? I like to "spew misogyny here at every turn"? Stop, really. you're too much.
Happy bullet: (in this scene, dressed in drag as "Babba Yaga")-"If you have a problem with one strong woman, you have a problem with ALL strong women, dammit! And thinking that one woman who spews hate and vitriol at every turn is a little "unbalanced" is tantamount to HATING ALL WOMEN! And all cats have hair. Well, my cousin Judy has hair, therefore, my cousin Judy is a cat! If you can't think of a reason why my cousin Judy isn't a cat, then you have a problem with cats! According to Happy Bullet's logic! And I'm logical, dammit! And if you say I'm not, then you're saying that anyone whose screen name is Happy Bullet is illogical...wait, that's not logical...is it?"
That's really good, Happy. Amusing.
EDIT--Right. And your sashaying about in drag, in an attempt to impersonate and denigrate Babba Yaga is just that, misogyny, Happy Bullet. Well, it seems we are agreed.
EDIT--That YOU are doing the same thing you fallaciously accuse me of doing is "irrelevant"? Do you know what irrelevant means? And I "lost"? No Happy, there is no winning this ridiculous exchange, just inanely bouncing the ball from one to the other...the balls in your court.
EDIT--Actually, I just want to see how long YOU will go...and apparently, you'll keep on, all the while hypocritically accusing me of keeping it up because I'm "insecure"...and if you find me boring, it's because I'm not playing your little game...I'm playing my own (and it really bothers you)...Awww, look who's insecure...

The only way you can chalk Ann Coulter up to be a strong anything is by giving power and strength to lies. She writes lies, spews lies, sleeps with lies, and dines with lies. Her entire popularity, status, and media wealth are a result of her dishonest sensationalism - might as well be yellow journalism. She can write, but when the content is such hum-bug, who cares? She is a ridiculous clown. None of her arguments hold merit. She breathes straw men. And, worst of all, she is a dogmatic mess. She isn't strong, it's just that everyone else is so weak.
