It depends on how far along the pregnancy was when the miscarriage happened. If a woman is very early pregnant, the most common thing is to have what feels like a very heavy and painful period. If a woman is past 6-8 weeks, it is likely that her doctor would order a D/C which is a "clean-out" of the uterus done as an out-patient surgery. This procedure is not painful, but they will put you under general anesthetic for it.

Good luck

It really depends on how far along you are also. I was only 2 or 3 weeks when I miscarried in December. I only knew that I had when I got my regular period again and took two home pregnancy tests that were negative. I did not even have to go in for a checkup afterward. A nurse told me that it is very common for women to miscarry all the time at such an early stage and not even know about it. I wouldn't have known it either if I hadn't been trying to get pregnant, thus checking very early. Anyway. Everything was fine and I am pregnant again (6 1/2 weeks)

If it happened to you I am sorry to hear it. Take care.

It all depends on how far along you are and if your body does things naturally and your doctor. I have had three miscarraiges. The first miscarraige I didn't pass the sac and opposed to having a D&C which my doctor doesn't like to do unless medically necessary I was given a drug to restart my "labor" to pass the sac. The other two I passed the baby without any intervention. If you do not have a D&C like I didn't the dr will follow up with blood work to follow your hcg levels down and ultrasounds to make sure nothing is left to compromise your health.

It all depends on the individual. When I had mine I didn't feel comfortable knowing there was something dead in my body..I wanted it over so I could begin healing emotionally. I had a D&C. Same day surgery..no big deal..went to work the next day on light duty(no heavy lifting). You can wait for the body to expel the baby if you want to. The doctor will probably do an ultrasound to make sure everything has passed. It will hurt a bit for a couple of days while you are passing everything.

I just miscarried today, and they are not going to do anything. I am...was only 6 weeks, they just let your body do all the work. If you are further along they will do a D & C, which is where they have to basically clean you out. If your body does not dispose of everything on it's own the doctors have to help it along. So it all depends on how far along you are. Hope you are not going through this, it is not fun. Good Luck, and best wishes.

It depends. Nothing at all could be done, you will have a heavy period. Your Dr might want to perform a D&C, same day surgery, or depending on how far along you are, you might birth the baby.

A D&C is normally done sadly, I was only 9 weeks when i was told i needed a D&C done.
What they do is put you on an IV, knock you out and remove the fetus. I hope that helps you
