I had the worst heartburn during the last trimester of my pregnancy! I took the maximum amount of tums recommended every day for a couple of months! I had towers of empty tums bottles stacked around my bed and bath! The good news is that the tums did help. But I couldn't keep from getting heartburn no matter what I ate. (Milk was the worst!)
All I can say is that they say during the last couple of weeks the baby "drops" and then the pressure isn't so bad on your insides. I was given the hope that this would ease the heartburn. (for me it didn't, but maybe for you it will)
Also, don't worry. The day the baby was born, I never had heartburn again! yay mexican food! (now I am headed down that road again though!)
Good luck with the towers of tums!

My daughter is now 4 months old but when I was pregnant I had the worst heart burn and everyone was telling me about the whole thing about the baby having a lot of hair. Well I never wanted to believe that crap b/c both my husband and I were baldies as babies but when my daughter was born she was born with a lot of hair so your cutie pie may have a head full sweety. Just drink a lot of water and take a few Tums they're a good source of calcium.. Good Luck and congrats.

Oh gosh, I had horrible heartburn with my second pregnancy, I couldn't even swallow my own saliva with out getting heartburn. My son was born with a full head of dark hair. So I believe that old wives tale is true. My first child was born bald and didn't get much hair until she was 1 1/2.
My heart goes out to you. Your baby will be born soon.
Congrats and good luck.

I am 28 weeks pregnant. I have had really bad heartburn since day one. My doctor has me on prevacid. Rolaids and Tums work.. but a really safe one when pregnant (the doctor told me) is over the coutner and is a liquid... called Malox. I used that for awhile when I was out of prevacid

i looked up home remedies for prenatal heartburn last week. the articles said that if you switch to smaller and more frequent meals, drinking liquids after finishing your meals, and do not eat or drink immediately before bed.
stay away from caffeine that includes chocolate, citrus fruit, hot spices and carbonated drinks.
milk/ milk products, bananas, bread and water/ice chips can help relief and/or get rid of heartburn.
i personally found whipped cream (the real stuff), ice chips and bananas worked for me. FYI i the way hate Tums, Rolaids and Maalox taste!

try drinking milk. also, prop yourself up. also, lie on your left side. avoid tomatoes and sauces made with tomatoes, avoid other strong acidic foods & beverages--like orange juice, chocolate, tea, pizza, spaghetti, and more!
also, ley86 is not accurate. I had heartburn and my son was a towhead--with just a teensy amount of peach fuzz and stayed bald till he was almost one!
I think heartburn during pregnancy is just to make room for a little love--
Just think, in a few weeks, the heartburn will be long gone, and in its place will be the most remarkable love ever.
