What is it about Melinda! I guess she has a ok voice, but I don't see anything that great about her!

My husband and mom think she has no neck. she is a good singer but honestly, i think the judges like her so much b/c she's so shy and not overly confident.

She has an amazing, strong voice and is quite comfortable on stage. She actually "feels" the song she's singing and it comes across that way as well. She is considered a "storyteller" when she sings.
People also are drawn to Melinda because she's very humble when she's receiving comments from the Judges. She doesn't come off as a "know-it-all" with an attitude.

She's humble, she's sweet, and until this week, she looked like she didn't even believe people when they complimented her. She's a shy person, but when she sings, it's like a different person is singing. Her voice is exceptional, it's not often you hear a voice of that level of professionalism, especially in somebody trying out for American Idol.

You may not like her but if you listen to her and then the others, she is a pro the rest are simply amatures. She has more control, she sings with passion and she could walk into any studio and cut a gold record on the spot. She really is that good.

When that girls sings you can feel the song through her. She can bring the feeling of the song and her voice is so freakin' powerful. She is technically perfect. She needs an image overhaul, I must admit...but otherwise this girl can sing. I think she'll make the final three for sure. Safe to say she could win it too!

Most people seem to think she has much more than an ok voice, myself included. But the major thing is that she -- her face and eyes -- absolutely glow in every song she has sung so far

i guess her personality and voice. also how her life story is having an impact on so many people.. having some1 who was a back up singer now getting da chance to become solo artist...
