What is the difference between using the color and black cartridges and the color and photo cartridges.

I think the others have misunderstood your question.

a 4 ink (3 colors plus black) is generally ALL you will need to produce decent prints of your pictures either wallet siuze, 4x6, 5x7 or even 8x10.

The extra 2 colors will certainly make the pictures more professional since they will show "subtle gradients" of colors instead of just the usual disctinct red, green, yellow and blues.

But unless you require such refinements in your profession or taste then you are wasting money.

Every time you fill or have filled or buy a new cartridge you will be spending and extra $20 bill.

And, if you want to be real thrifty, buy a 4 colour PC and learn to fill your own cartridges for about $2.00 instead of having it done for $10 or buying a new one for even more.

Usually the difference is the size, as in how much ink is in one cartage!

the photo cartridge has wider spectrum of color...see ya...
