or big corporations?

Corporations play a BIG role in today's society. They seem to have more control over what laws are passed than the people.

I've heard stories of how they exploit the poor in other countries and in many cases make the conditions there even worse.

The main reason immigrants illegally cross our borders is to find work. If these corporations weren't hiring illegal immigrants to save a buck, would we have so many here?

Why do we blame powerless immigrants and ignore the corporations involvement?

Also, I posted this question earlier today only to find it wasn't available to the public. I had to post the first 9 words this time so they would allow it and add the rest after. This isn't the first time this happened on y/a.

Immigrants are not the problem here. This country is made up of immigrants from all over the world. The only true "americans" are native americans. The real problem is the lack of truth in our government and big corporations. We have the wealthiest country in the world and yet there are still homeless children, elders with very small pensions/SSI and inadequate health care for the soldiers who have fought for us overseas. The problem is money hungry, power hungry people and businesses.

The powerful and whealth make the rules which is the problem with America's self image. We are not the Country we were even twenty years ago. We have never ajusted well to Internationalism which is a necessety in this fast and electronic age.
We have to think like we are inwardly focused, but we have to behave in the world with first class knowledge about other people in the world.
We obviously know almost nothing about other people, and until we do, we will continue getting our clock cleaned.
WWII was a great war and victory for America, but it badly distorted our self image compared to other Countries. Beating the then crazed Germanys and Japanese did not make us the greatest Country in the World, but we were so impressed with ourselves that we thought we knew everything.
Vietnam and Iraq should have and hopefully will teach us that we are still several blocks away from understanding the rest of the World. And, while we are at it, why don't we jointly get into some counselling and figure out who we really are at this time in our history.

Amen! Its about time someone said it. If people doubt it, look up articles on the Women of Juarez. There are factories there that build computers that no doubt are sitting right in front of you. And yet they turn a blind eye if there is drug abuse to get workers to work faster and don't try to protect the women who are disappearing at an alarming rate and are being tortured and raped.
