I'm no fan of the Kobe vs MJ comparison because I think there is no comparison. Jordan is an out of this world athlete. But if I was MJ, I would have to agree with that statement. For as long as I can remember, they've been waiting for the day when the "next" Jordan would show up. I can remember Jamal Mashburn, Grant Hill, Harold Minor, JR Rider, Jim Jackson, Penny Hardaway, would all get comparisons to MJ. Nowadays, it's Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Camelo Anthony, and Kobe Bryant. Of these players, Kobe resembles Jordan to a tee. He plays his game like him, he sticks his tongue out like him, he fades his jumper like him. He even sounds like him in his interviews. I think he secretly aspires to be MJ. I'd definately agree that he is the closest anyone has ever gotten to MJ.

Kobe is close, but I think LeBron will end up being closer. Jordan learned that the only way to win a title was with a team, so he picked his spots to take over a game. Kobe will eventually learn to trust his teammates.

at the moment, i would agree. but there has to be one person eventually that will be even closer to mj than kobe is right now. i dont think anyone besides kobe in the league right now will get close to mj in their careers. not even lebron james, he doesnt play defense and i didnt see much improvement to his game this year.

I would disagree. Kobe isn't even CLOSE to the player that Jordan was.

Why are you asking me to pretend to be Michael Jordan to answer the question?

Ok: if I were Michael Jordan: I'd say "Kobe's his own player, man; he's good; he's him; I'm me." and I'd be thinking: "I could still clean his clock."

i disagree, cuz kobe doesnt even care (or seems like it)for his team cuz there not good, mj had a decent team, but he could nt carry it alone so he let them have the ball and they did good, kobe would probably never do the same thing with a team like that.
