I bought a xbox of a kid i don't really know, i bout it pretty cheap he said he already had one and was given this one by his friend. But the kids shaddy and i wanted an xbox. I want xbox live, but i dont want to be blaimed for stealing. Can they trace me if i get xbox live? and what would the punishment be?

No, there no way to really trace it. Plus ppl sell xboxes all the time, it'll be impossible to know which ones were stolen, or traded.

If they really wanted to (I.E.: They couldn't find the person that might've stolen it) then they could trace you, but it is REALLY unlikely. There can be different kinds of punishments, but you didn't know better so your off the hook.
