For myself, the national anthem is a symbol of America itself. The great things that are county stands for are all conveyed through the song in one form or another. It shows our country's bravery and courage. It symbolizes the victory and it reminds me of ongoing victories that America is winning. "Gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there." We came out victorious and we still do today. We truly are "the land of the free." Economic opportunities abound throughout our society, and we have freedom with everything that we do.

Our country is great!

I like it as a symbol of unity. I like it when a whole group of different people are able to stand together, singing the same song. It's nice to have something that brings people together and allows them to all feel like part of something larger than themselves, even if only for three minutes before a sporting event.

Unfortunitly, the banner may not be flying as we get out of Iraq. Two wars fought and two wars lost. Over one million people killed by me and the rest of our military, and for what?
And I served my four years and got a Honorable Discharge. That is more than Bush has accomplished.

I just went to my 1st grader's 'Salute to America' play tonight and that song warrants the same feeling and courtesy as the 'Pledge of Allegiance". Grateful for or FREEDOM :)
