Would george washington have used explosive devices like those used in iraq today, if he had access to C4?

How is george washington that different then bin laden?

Sure it wasnt a religious war, mostly a national one. But washington DID put americans that were found to be aiding the brits to the gallows (like the sunnis and shiites are doing now, killing each other)

The civil war between the loyalist and the separatist in this country was a nasty nasty fight.

But, GW didn't go to Englad and commit acts of terror. They simply wanted England out of the Colonies. Once that goal was accomplished the war was over.

The new Americans weren't set on the complete annihilation of England and the English way of life.

I do think there are some similarities between Washington's revolutionaries and the insurgents in Iraq. But their are some big differences there too. GW wasn't fighting a foreign invader, that didn't happen till the War of 1812.

Shakespeare_reborn,
George Washington WAS considered a terrorist by the british. He was also a loose cannon leading a bunch of radicals who were tired of a tyrant accross the ocean that was trying to make this country a colony of Britain. I've notice these similarities quite often. History has made the country that defeated the tyrant into the tyrant. Someone once said that the only thing we learn from the past is that we never learn anything from the past. Truer words were never spoken.

George washington was an honorable man who fought to free his country from the British Imperialists. He was in essence fghting invaders of his country and he happily returned to his homestead when the threat from the British was eliminated.

I am sure he would have used whatever weapons and tactics that he felt necessary to achieve freedom for his country and he would without question have executed any person who he thought was collaborating with the enemy as traitors to his country.

With that in mind you could say that George Washington was no different to Bin Laden, as he was fighting people who he perceived as oppressing his nation and was, in every sense of the word a patriot.

If he were alive today he would most surely be calling for the impeachment of Bush and his administration. In his farewell letter he warned the American people to be vigilant of corrupt government and of people trying to influence government for their own gain.

"they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."

He advocated the common good and warned against governments using fear to decieve the American people into accepting policies that were not in the best interests of America as a nation. He specifically warned against letting foreign nations have influence of American affairs and getting involved in the political affairs of other nations.

I would advise all Americans to aquaint themselves with the parting word of their first President. He was a great man, an honorable man and a true patriot.

It is heavy reading but it is well worth the effort, I have included a link so you may do this.

I believe he would have. George Washington was leading a national uprising. Bin Laden is a loose cannon at the head of an extremist religious cult.

GW didn't use women and children as human shields. He didn't suicide bomb women, children. He didn't hide and cower in fear. He fought openly with honor.
