In the last year, we have seen:

Bush has ordered a surge in Iraq, a purge at the Department of Justice and a funeral dirge on democracy as wire-tapping of Americans continues unabated.

New Orleans has not been rebuilt.

2 million more Americans have lost their health insurance.

prisoners at Guantanamo have still not seen a lawyer.

our veterans' health-care system has been rotting away to its moldy core.

fear, anger and contempt for America has spread worldwide and hardened to cement.

another $92.9 billion of our money has been spent in Iraq — and who knows where that money came from, really? We know where a lot of it went, though — to Dick Cheney's Haliburton.

another 800+ American soldiers have died

Things are changing and for the better.

The surge in Iraq is working; ask the troops and their commanders. The purge at the department of justice was nothing compared to the one Clinton conducted. Americans are only being wire-tapped when there is evidence they are communicating with terrorist.

New Orleans has been rebuilt except for the areas where people have not and will not return. Things were so bad in the lower 9th ward; people are probably not going to go back. Since the levees could fail again if there is another storm, I do not see why they would want to.

The figures of those without heath insurance are not exactly accurate. They include all those who do not want to have heath insurance (many young people, choose not to). It also includes anyone who does not have heath insurance for one day out of the year. If you change jobs for example, you will be counted as having had no health insurence even if it was only for a day.

The prisoners at Guantanamo are terrorists and as they were not caught in uniform as part of an army they do not fall under the Geneva Convention. They are not American citizens so they do not qualify for the protections under our constitution.

The situation at Walter Reed was depressing, I just do not understand why no one noticed it sooner or maybe it was not as bad as we are being led to believe.

Why does it matter what the rest of the world thinks of us? We are the most powerful country in the world, if they were smart they would be trying to appease us, not the other way around.

The money being spent in Iraq is going to the troops. Only a small portion is going to contracted companies like Halliburton and Bechtel. They do not get contracts because of connections in the government. They get the contacts because they are the only companies that can do what the government wants them to do that quickly.

Do you have any idea how many soldiers were killed in WWII or in Vietnam? If you look up those numbers you will realize that we have not lost many soldiers yet. There are more people than that murdered in America every year. Why aren't you trying to stop the murderers in America if 800 lives are that important to you?

Let us look at cause of a change alone!

Knowledge, awareness and possibilities together contribute to changes!Similarly a question elude answer part in it. and answer just refer to matters stated in question! An ordinary truth seeker will never grasp facts!

Fact is that political answers to matters cited by you could be easily framed as if they are bare needs! Though your concerns as an American are genuine You too will not change if you are president of United states of America! In said position you will feel the pressures of politics!

Finally the core issue here is "right" or "wrong" !

There are too many people who trust Government activities!
Particularly 'too many citizen of world' who trust US dollar!

Knowledge awareness and possibilities are expanding! Similarly pressure on a leading country like America is also increasing! Things will change and it will be definitely reflecting either as a weak US dollar or strong US dollar!
