Especially the type that just auto-logins? It's incredibly annoying.

It's stupid. I tried to hit cancel but the window just disappears too fast, then I have to actually go to the mini-task bar and Exit the program there.

haha, i assume its becuase they have a social inadequacy that prevents them from being able to network with real friends in real life.

the IM i suppose gives them a false sense of security about their social worth. installing it and leaving it autologin is just a consequence of their inability to function in a real social circle. they basically figure that they use IM when they are at home (IF they have internet at home), and it must be okay at a public library/computer/etc.

and they dont really know wtf they're doing, so when they install, they just select all the default options. its a freakin greek tragedy!

it reminds me of when i used to go to the library BEFORE they had the internet. well, one day they got internet, and then this fat kid started showing up all the time.. you could tell he never used the bike that he rode to the library on before in his life! he'd hit the door breathing all hard and always ask "can i use a computer"... and they told him the same thing every time: "sign in and wait, fatty"

i *hated* that kid!!

I think they install the IM because they're addicted to seeing whats going on with their buddies on Myspace. I think they leave it as autologin because they aren't too savvy about not using that option on public internet connections.

A lack of common courtesy.
Poor parental training as children.
and NO common sense, an increasingly RARE commodity!
