You are NOT more fertile after giving birth than at any other time, but you can get pregnant only 4 weeks after giving birth. The birth control pill takes at least a month or 28 days to start to be effective and probably best to give it even a little while longer. A condom is not always 100% but is still very effective. Don't doctors still tell you to wait 6 wks. after baby is born to prevent any infection or a possible pregnancy because your body is recuperating from a lot of stress. Your hormones and your period will be a bit messed up for some time after having a baby so you are probably not pregnant, but you still should see your doctor. At the very least take a home pregnancy test.

A condom is not 100%,neither is birth control.Anything can happen, the doctors say that after you have a child that makes you very fertile. I didn't know that intil'after I had my daughter last year. I was scared when the doctor told me that, because at the time my daughter was only 2 months. I didn't want another child right away. So I got on the depo shot , and made my baby dad use a condom everytime. If i was you i would check that out, and make sure your protected if you don't want anymore kids right away. And remember it doesn't matter how many condoms you use, it could still happen.

Sure, it's possible to get pregnant if you don't follow the doctors orders and wait until your body heals before having sex.

It's also possible (likely even) if you are formula-feeding.

But if you are exclusively breastfeeding without using any bottles or pacifiers, have not given your child any solids at all, are breastfeeding on demand both day and night, and your periods have not yet returned (have you even stopped post-partum bleeding yet?!) at this point your chances of becoming pregnant fall to less than 2%. This is called the Lactational Amenorrhea Method of birth control, or LAM (see links below for more information). Combine that with condom usage, and it's practically (though not entirely) impossible.

For your body's sake, and for your other child's sake, I hope you are exclusively breastfeeding and not pregnant again so soon.

Yes. Condoms are not 100% effective and you are more fertile the first few weeks after having a baby. Have you been taking any medications, because antibiotics sometimes cause the pill not to work as well.

It's unlikely that you are fertile so soon after giving birth. Why did you use two condoms at once? When you use two condoms at once, you raise the risk of both the condoms rupturing due to friction. If your partner needs two condoms desensitize his penis, it's best to use a single condom that contains a special desensitizer. Most major condom manufacturers make them.

Definitely. You're very fertile the first few weeks afterwards and condoms don't always work. I have a friend that got pregnant TWO weeks postpartum.

Edit: Uhh anax- How old are you? Not old enough to have learned anything in health class apparently.

You are the MOST FERTILE after you have a baby. There could be a serious possibility that you are pregnant. I would go to your OB and get a pregnancy test.
