how much would it cost to get a new coat of paint on my car?

i charge 750 to pick up my gun and spray. if you want the same color first i would spend 100 bucks at a detail shop and have it buffed and waxed. u would be amazed at what a good wax will do. now to paint a car macco as a 250 special and the paint will peal in 6 months or less. if u want a color change now ur looking at 2000 any where in the nation to start. do you want a solid color metalic, pearl over lay , or kandy? now this can put it up to 10k for a show quality job, artwork (airbrushing or graphic) can make the price sky rocket. this is whay you see alo of vinyl graphis around and not alot of custom jobs. save up 1500 bucks and then goto 4 shops. be very detailed on what you want and how much you have to spend. and paint can be expensive case in point... the new chrome paint 4000 bucks a gallon and some prism paint is just as expensive. and if you have alot of body work to be done alot of shops wont touch your car. so first
1 save up 1500 dollars
2 get estimates from 4-5 shops
3 pick the shop and talk to them
4 dont be scared to try and negotiate the price 300 dollars less

maaco can do it for real cheap, but the work reflects what you pay for, it would really depend on what type of car it is, how much if any body work must be done, how much prep time is involved, original color or not, i had my car priced a while back, for a suski sidekick, to change the color was 5000 dollars, and its a small vehicle

Anywhere from 600. to 3000. or more Maaco or Earl Shibe on to the more expensive Custom Artists, it's all what you can afford and want.
