Depends on your state. It also depends on the age and sex of the people living in the house. In Pa,children of opposite sexes aren't allowed to share a bedroom after they are a certain age. It probably depends on if you rent or own also. A rented house,the landlord can state how many people are allowed to live there.

I think it depends on your state. I live in Pennsylvania, and there's some rule about more than 6(Im not sure of the exact number honestly) girls not being allowed to live in a house together, because it would be considered a whore house. Which would be why so few girls can live in the sorority houses on campuses in PA. However when I went to school in Louisiana, there was no such rule. I could be completely wrong about this, but that is what I have been told. I really don't think that there is a legal amount of people allowed to live in a house, especially if you own it. I mean, what are the cops gonna do--come to your house and count everyone? I doubt that would really ever happen.

There's no limit if you're in a house, now in an apartment I believe it;s 2 per room.

I don't think there is a limit where I live, have seen some homes with over twenty people living there.
