Prince - "See what a scourge is laid upon your hate,
That heaven finds means to kill our joys with love."

Act 5, Scene 3....Near the end of the scene

Like how does this quote show hate in the outcome of the play?

Wasnt this statement made to the families of Romeo and Juliet that had the feud going?

What is being expressed is that the hate that the families had for each other was so bad that heaven opened up and took their precious children from them, who were so in love with each other. Romeo and Juliet died because they were finding ways to continue their love secretly, because the ycould not show their love openly because their families hated each other.

The hate of the family caused the youths to kill themselves in a misguided attempt to get away from their parents and love each other openly.

Hope you get an A.

it's ironic that heaven/fate kills the joy of the houses (Romeo and Juliet) with love (or at the very least strong infatuation)

Like this quote shows the outcome of unquestioned hatred in the play.

in fact, it is ironic the haven never kills joys with love; but it was its punishment to destroy the houses Romeo's and Juliet's houses. ,because of the huge hate betwwen the two families.
