When answering a serious question, I give the best information that I know to give. If I cannot answer, I don't.
There are questions though, where the asker is not serious, and I joke around....A and B

Almost always [A.] I like the good feeling that I get when I get Best Answer, and offending the asker won't get me very far.

A serious, informative answer most of the time. Unless it's a silly question, then I'll give a silly answer. I try to answer just like I would if you were my good friend and you were asking for advice. Probably naive of me to do so, but...

Defiantly, a serious informative answer if the question is of a serious nature, otherwise try and have a bit of imagination!

I follow the tone of the question. For most inquiries, I answer to the best of my knowledge. For the silly and inane, I answer sarcastically. I don't answer questions which offend me, but I will answer nonsensical questions with "My cat's breath smells like cat food".

I usually type the first thing that comes to mind actually...a balance of a) and B) oh ya and sometimes e) hehe
