Canas may be a top ten player, but i doubt it. He just beat the number one in the world twice, but Federer didnt play very well. Im sure Canas will move higher in the ranking but i really dont think, if he played Federer again tommorrow, he would win again. Another thing, i dont think Nadal is going to win this tournament.

I don't think he'll get near the top 10 as he isn't consistent enough. He's just like any top 50 player - they can all beat each other on the day. Federer has played 2 bad matches this year (especially yesterday when he was a break up in the 3rd) and lost them to a guy who was playing very physical tennis out of his skin. The next time Federer plays badly against a guy on form, he'll lose that too. That's sport.
I like Canas' style though - he always makes his opponent play that extra shot. That's why Federer lost - he lost his patience (unusually) and made too many errors going for shots that weren't on, instead of developing the rallies. Canas has an ANIMAL backhand as well - I never knew he could hit that hard!

Canas might very well regain the form that had him in the top 10 before he got suspended from the ATP for testing positive for illegal substances in '05.
As for his results against Federer, I wouldn't expect that trend to continue. Federer seems to be in a little bit of a funk after the Aussie Open, but I highly doubt he'd post 51 errors in a Grand Slam match.

Well he certainly has Federer's number , but he really needs to show that he can hang around the elite players. Can he make it to the QF round in say the French Open, Wimbledon, or the U.S. Open.
He must be a late bloomer he's been a pro since 1995 and this certainly a great moment in his carrer as he will turn 30 November 25.
top 10 no- He's currently ranked 55 and I just don't think he can consistently win. His highest ranking was 8(June 6,05) yet he didn't finish in the top 10.

guys jst bcoz a guy beat federer 2 times in two months it doesnt mean that canas is that good neither it means that federer is bad.
there are good times and bad times for everyone.
yet i believe canas played very well but i dont believe he is consistent though.
federer on the other side made too many unforced errors (51:21) and probably is having his dark period of his career.
i guess federer is gonna show up in the upcoming events and hope too.
meanwhile, nadal...........yea i do believe he's gotta chance but he is meeting djokovic (finalist pacific open vs nadal) and maybe he is having a tuff draw and there is another interesting match - murray vs roddick!
thats it 4 now.
cheers:)

i don't think canas is the real deal he'll probably end up among the top players like people such as David nalbandian,Tommy Haas,Ivan ljubicic and so on.he'll probably win a few tours in his time but i can't see him doing better than that...
