I am a part time student with 2 school age kids and 2 toddlers, so I can relate. Open all your windows and air out your house. Next pick a room and just start there, have a laundry basket handy so you can put things that belong in other rooms in that. Get your kids involved....Dump out their toy boxes, bookshelves, dresser drawers...whatever and tell them to make piles of what they do not use/want/need anymore and if it is still in good shape take it all to Goodwill.

If your kids are old enough they can help out with other things too, just use your judgment on what you think they can handle.

Pick a free day and load up all the big bulky comforters, curtains, etc and take them to a laundromat or dry cleaners. I usually save the kitchen for last, because it gets dirty during the process of cleaning.

Another thing I like to do while I am cleaning is just ORGANIZE my house....getting rid of things I do not use, etc. This makes the cleaning process a lot easier the next time

:-)

Do a little bit here, and a little bit there, a little at a time. It does not have to be some major undertaking. My 'spring cleaning' may take all summer before it's completed.

Involve the kids with vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, whatever they can handle. Make it a bit of a game - who can finish their small chore first? The winner gets to choose dinner, or gets to stay up a little later on the weekend. Just be sure everyone gets to win, even if you have to help a bit.

Don't expect everything to be perfect, just cleaner than before. or as my mom always says - "Clean enough to be healthy, dirty enough to be happy!"

FlyLady has some great weekly schedules and daily routines and by working at things 15 minutes at a time, you will be surprised how much you can get done. I am also a mother of three and I know how finding the time to get everything done can be.
