The warning light says 'O/D OFF'. What is this please?

it means that your OverDrive is off. That must also mean it's an automatic. there should be a button on or near your shifter where you can turn it on or off.

If you can't swtich the overdrive on and off by the means of a button or switch then it can mean that the overdrive is switched off due to a fault and you can have the codes read out to find out what the problem is.
It could be a faulty shift solenoid, low fluid, blocked filter, absolutely anything.

theres normally a picture behind the light,like oul or brakes,if not sure take it to the mechanic
