How can people still think he has no arm strength, when he throws the ball 70+ yards on the fly? his pocket movement is why he won the heisman.

The biggest problem for Smith is that he is a running Qb that can't really run. Brady Quinn, who is thought of as a pure pocket passer, ran a quicker 40 at the ND pro day than Smith ran at his own pro day. He also isn't nearly as accurate as people would like him to be.
He won the Heisman because OSU went undefeated. That coupled with the fact that Bush and Peterson, who were supposed to be in the running for Heisman were injured is why he won by such a landslide.
I will say that Smith is probably about the 4th best QB in the draft, and if teams needed Qb's than he'd go quicker. The problem is most teams have more pressing needs and can wait on a backup Qb until about the 4th round or later. My guess is that he goes late 4th round, possibly to Kansas City.

Jason White won the Heisman (almost won it twice) and he didn't even get drafted.
His stock was always lower than most people think, it wasn't just the Florida game.
He has some problems that the scouts think will hurt him in the NFL: he has a very slow release time, he's not always very accurate, and he's short. The scouts are also worried about his character and intelligence.
Personally, I think the earliest he can expect to be drafted is the late 3rd round. I think the 5th round is more realistic.

I think he might be drafted in the 2nd or 3rd. He hasn't performed that badly last season--except, of course, in the National Championship. However, another top-rated quarterback, one by the name of Brady Quinn, did just as well against LSU as Troy did against the Gators, and people are already talking of his being a 2nd to 4th pick in the first round. I don't think, therefore, that the BCS game broke his stock that badly. Plus, he's not really the GREATEST quarterback ever to play in college. His accomplishments won him the Heisman, but I don't know about his talent.

It's very likely he goes in that part of the draft. The biggest problem with Troy Smith is his size.he was measured at 5'11 at the combine and that REALLY hurt his draft stock.Winning Heisman doesn't mean anything for your draft stock.Look at Jason White. He won heisman and was a 7th round pick but didn't even make the team!!!It happens.

Well, you also have to consider how many teams really need a QB? Aside from the Raiders and Lions, who else needs a QB? You also have Carr still available now and others have taken care of that position with the likes of Garcia, Rattay, and Ramsey. So yea, its highly likely he'll go 2nd round and maybe 3rd round.

his stock dropped on a couple issues: poor performance in the bowl championship, poor scouting combine performance, and he's not very tall, being at i believe 5'11. i'm expecting him to go in the early 2nd round. he might battle for a starting job in the nfl with some team that lacks depth at qb. otherwise, he'll remain a dependable backup for a little while at least.

there's about a 99% chance he goes 2nd round or lower...i don't find it hard to believe at all, because he is just not an nfl-style quarterback...his stock was always as low as it is and will remain that way because he is barely 6 feet tall and does not have nfl-level arm strength or accuracy

He will go earlier but I feel, like Gino Torretta, that he was surrounded by bomb talent and wasn't tested despite his Heisman. The team who takes him second or third round will wish they waited.

I think late 3rd maybe even into the early 4th round for Smith.
