We're going to be staying at the POP Century resort in a few weeks. I heard about those mugs you can buy and then you get unlimited refills for your entire stay. It sounds pretty cool but I was just wondering can we get drinks at night too (like 24/7) or do they close that area? We aren't going to have a fridge in the room and I don't know if we should bring a cooler so just wondering. Also, is there an ice machine there, in case we do bring a cooler?

Any other tips would help too!

THANKS!

The mugs are definitely worth it, especially if you will be staying around the resort a lot. It is also nice to take the mugs with a beverage to the parks in the morning. You can't get free refills in the park, but that does give you one drink and you can get water from a fountain and/or ask in the restaurants for them to put some ice water in it for you. They are probably one of the most valuable items at Disney.

The food court should be open from 6 a.m. until midnight, so it isn't 24 hours, but it is pretty close ;-) So you can get your last drink at midnight and that should last you a little while.

As far as ice, I believe the only ice is going to be the ice machine for drinks. It similar to what you would see in a fast food restaurant, so I don't think you would want to use it to fill up a big cooler, but a smaller cooler it should work for. I've never brought a cooler, but you may ask a castmember, they may be able to get you ice as well.

Pop Century is my favorite value resort, I'm sure you will have a blast.

I've included a link to All Ears, one of the biggest Disney sites on the internet. I linked to the page about the mugs, but you can use the search feature to find specific information and answers to your questions. It is a great resource for planning your trip.

Have a great time!

I think the mugs are the absolute best deal in Disney!! The food court area closes at midnight, and reopens again at 6 am. If you are back to the hotel before midnight, grab your last drink for te night then. Otherwise, you need to stick to whatever is in your fridge, but by the time I get back to my room at night I am too drained to even drink the entire cup that I just filled. My daughters favorite drink to fill up on was the Coca Cola slushes. It 's a retro thing that you won't find at the other value resorts (unless they just added the slushes in the last year). I usually grab some coffee on the way to the bus in the morning, and its finished (just about ) by the time I get to the parks. While you cannot refill the mugs for free outside the hotel, you can ask at any counter service place and they will fill it with ice, and sometimes water too, but you can get that from the drinking fouintains. I usually pour whatever drink I have left from a meal into the mug, as it tends to insulate a bit better than the disposable cups.
Going back to the coffee, just to let you know, if you are a coffee drinker, Nescafe is the coffee of choice on Disney property. It is not the best. Some of the restaurants do carry something other than Nescafe, as well as a few hotels. California Grill in the Contemorary has good coffee, as does Kona's at the Polynesian. Animal Kingdom has a couple of places with imported coffees as well... Tusker House and theres also a caert that sells imports. DownTown I usually go to Ghiradellis for coffee. Anyway, off that as you never even asked....
As for the ice, there is no ice machine like regular hotels at Pop, or any other Disney resort. You can get ice from the food court, from the soda fountain, but thats it. You likely won't want to go that route to fill your cooler. all of the resorts (including POP) have a refrigerator section of their gift shop. Usually beer, milf, juice, etc. you might be able to get ice there... I can't remember. If not, theres a Goodings supermarket down the road. Just to let you know as well, you cannot take a cooler into any of the parks.
Not sure if you are hitting the water parkson your visit. they too offer the refillable mugs, but your hotel one is not accepted here. It's also more monitorred here whats going into your mug... someone will notice if you try to use a hotel mug.. I got caught...! However, I have gotten a mug from Typhoon early in teh trip, then used it in the hotel where no one noticed. Not the most legit thing to do, but its only soda.. they get you on everything else in Disney.
Anyway, have a great time! April is pretty busy... Good Luck !!!!!

Definitely get a cup!!! They are very much worth the money especially if you plan on visiting the food court there a lot.

We buy the mugs AND take a small cooler. This way if it's 10 and you're in your pjs and don't feel like walking to the food court then you already have drinks in your room. This will save a lot of money because even though there are vending machines near your room, the prices are high.

Good luck and have a great trip!

The mugs are worth it, only if you are going to be at your hotel a lot. You cannot bring them to the parks and have them be refilled for free. Overall, I would say it is worth it though. The food area is open 6a.m. to midnight so you can get drinks pretty much whenever you would like! The pop century is a nice hotel and you should have fun! I would reccomend bringing a cooler though! Hope this helps!

Don't fear there are plenty of elevators for each and every constructing, you'll decide upon which period constructing to stick in for illustration I've stayed on the 50's technology, get a favored room cuz you'll be able to be in the direction of the bus stations, meals court docket, foyer, and many others., for those who get a commonplace room you'll be able to be a ways and ought to stroll a ton simply to get to the bus stations.
