I had my nostril pierced about 2 months ago and I'd like to change the jewelry. It's a nose screw... how do I get it out? I know it isn't stuck or anything, because I can push it all around with absolutely no pain or discomfort; I just can't seem to get the thing the whole way out. I did it accidentally about 2 weeks ago, though, the part of the post that is shaped like an L came the whole way out. I panicked and pushed it back in, though.

Do I need to go back to the piercer with the new jewelry I want to put in or can I just push it out carefully by myself? Do the piercers charge you if you ask them to do something like that?

I would prefer to do it myself if I can, but is there anything I should know before I go pulling metal out of my face?

i've pierced for 2years now and when you are removing the screw twist and then pull when you get to the L shape on it. if you really can't do it try your piercer they should just teach you how to do it...its' like a tattoo if yours is messed up go to another person to ask if they can fix it and they won't charge you for quotes and advice...so if your piercer wants to charge you GO somewhere else...they probably just think they can rip you off.

I would go back to the place where you had the piercing done. I had my nose pierced a few months ago and it grew up the first time i took out the ring. Have the piercer show you how to take it out.

I don't have a nose ring so I can't tell you how to properly take out a nose screw, but you can go to your piercer if you are having difficulties with it. I know when I had one of my cartilage piercings changed by my piercer, he charged me $5 to do it, since it was my own jewelry, but it may vary from parlor to parlor, so I'd suggest giving them a call and find out more info.

Screw studs are a suffering within the A$$. You simply need to maintain wiggling it specific methods and do your nice to get it in. It's both uncover a method to get it in, or allow the gap near up. Or you would cross to wal-mart or the mall and purchase a immediately bone stud and positioned that during. Oh and should you maintain the stud out for a couple of days, it WILL near up. I've had my nostril pierced for just about two years and that i are not able to go away my stud out for greater than quarter-hour with out the within opening to near.

Yikes! I'm glad I had a straight post "gunned"; I've heard stories about the screw. I bought one and couldn't figure out how to put it in without killing myself. I use "bones" exclusively and love them. I would go to a piercer and ask them. My son's girlfriend had hers pierced with the screw in Costa Rica and that's what I suggested to her. She had the same concern. Good luck and maybe try the bones. They fit snug and don't fall out.

When I had my nose pierced a couple of months ago, they told me to come back to them the first time I was going to change the jewelry because it can be tricky and they would teach me how to do it.

Call them and ask if they offer that service and if they'll be making you pay for it.
