I bought a wifi max that is supposed to connect the ds to the internet wirelessly. they will connect but then it says cannot locate ip address and also whenever i plug it into the computer, after a while it smells like it is burning.
If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think the DS can go to the internet, my PSP built in wifi so I just make a connection and type down the website address now I'm on the internet.

attempt switching what channel you're on. from time to time the Wifi gadget interior the DS does no longer good come across the perfect proper channel, so so you might come across it by technique of trial and mistake. Channels go a million-11 a million being the optimal frequency 11 being the bottom. This placing should be interior the DS gadget menu.

It sounds like you are connecting to the wifi max, but it is unable to connect to the internet. You probably need to call tech support for either the wifi max or your internet service provider so they can help you set it up to automatically get the IP address you need (my ISP is always good about helping me set up routers and things like that).

I don't know anything about the burning smell...
