The film is NOT horrible. Compared to a lot of today's films, it's quite tame. There's no blood or gore. People who call that horrible are obviously easily shocked. Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino films are a lot more explicit.
And A Clockwork Orange is more intelligent and thought provoking than usual brain-dead movies.

The movie is quite graphic by the standards of the time, but Im sure you have seen worse on TV any night of the week. The subject matter is graphic violence. A man who is a hopeless criminal is given a chance of reprieve through the Ludovico treatment - which will densensitize him to all forms of violence. However, in the end, it takes away his only joy in life - music. The issue is - does the government have the right to control people through conditioning? It is an issue that is very much current in this age of pedophilia and other sex crimes. Mr. Burgess was way ahead of his time. However, I think you have time before you see that movie. While it is a wonderful movie and Malcolm Mc Dowell is truly amazing in it, save it for when you are a bit older. The book is also on the graphic side, but much deeper than the movie. Consider the book first. Pax - C.

I've never seen the movie, but i read the book. It's very disturbing and strange, but a very good read if you like to philosophically question your previous definition and view of what is "right" and where the line should be drawn between the rights of an individual versus the rights of society as a whole. All in all, it's a strange book, but it makes you think more impartially about life. A good read.
About your comment on your age: I don't think that age really matters, but you obviously feel a little insecure about it, since you put it out there. I say read all you can and get the most out of life while you can.

Your sentence: I'm 15, but some people say I'm mature for my age, but I just love to read, makes absolutely NO SENSE! So, you're 15 and allegedly mature, and what pray tell does that have to do with your love of reading? Anyway, A Clockwork Orange is a strange book and an even stranger movie. It was directed by Stanley Kebrick who was a very strange guy, in my opinion. Find something else.

I actually saw the movie when I was younger than you. It really is vile but a good rendition of the novel all the same. I suggest reading the novel first. Novels always offer more detail, and it will also offer a precise background of information.

Only watch the movie if you have a stomach for brutal, disturbing rape scenes.
