Just today checking emails there was an invitation in there to come to a Barack Obama open house and there was a link to the places you could attend near you. Ive never seen anything like it before. All i did was sign up for the different candidates news letters so i could know whats going on, so i thought that was a pretty interesting way of getting people together early to form groups for campaigning or whatever else they will be doing at these open houses.

The internet is going to have a moderate affect on the upcoming campaign because that is the only way Republicans can get their fair share of the campaigning. Democrats if you don't know control too much of the New Outlets such as New York Times, CNN, ABC, CBS, ect.

The internet has already affected previous elections, and it will continue to affect them. An increasing number of people have become bored and distrustful of traditional news outlets like the big 3 TV networks and most newspapers, and rightfully so, given their fringe-left slant. Their formats are usually lame anyway.
Look at the ad Obama's former staff member put out on youtube.com about Hillary, with the 1984 theme. That was the most powerful political commercial I have ever seen.

The liberals and the conservatives who are on the web will continue to bash each other to our own amusement but the real American will be working, paying bills, paying taxes and won't be getting his kicks on the super info highway.

I dont think it will have much effect.
The republicans pretty much OWN the company that makes the voting machines.
If they dont win in 2008 i would be shocked.
